From what I have read it appears the do not respect that the NPO is the government of the Pacific.

That is largely the case.

Why does the meritocracy question the NPO as the official government of the Pacific? Does the NPO question the Meritocracy as the official government of their region? Please forgive me for asking I am kind of a Noob when it come to regional interaction.

Please forgive me for asking I am kind of a Noob when it come to regional interaction. It's easy...Many Arab nations don't acknowledge that Israel is the government of that area on the eastern edge of the Mediterranean Sea. Many people believe that we are an illegal government, which justifies their nearly year-long war against the Pacific and its people.

This might be a naive question but why does the Meritocracy hate the NPO? As Quaestor of the Meritocracy, I will definetively answer for you that we do not. Futhermore, let me add that both the NPO and Meritocracy have sent and received Ambassadors.

I should clarify...I wasn't saying that the Meritocracy and the NPO hate or don't recognize each other...I was answering how one government doesn't recognize another government.

It is with great reluctance I must report Comrade Senator Mammothistan was accused of attempting to gain entrance to the Meritocracy forum under a different name Parsnip Cathedral via a Proxy. This has proven to be preemptorively correct with the furnishing of IP's between the ADN and the Meritocracy.
As of a few minutes ago Mammothistan was recalled from the Meritocracy as an Ambassador and will be replaced. He is facing charges for the lack of judgement he has employed and by involving the NPO in this. He will be facing an Internal hearing where he will be afforded the chance to defend himself.
The NPO has committed to reforming the way the Government operates and we are just as quick to prosecute our own for infractions. In the course of the Inquiry we will determine what actually happened.
Unfortunately due to this the forums will be delayed until the 1st as there is some issues with the creator. I am sorry to have to announce two blows to our attempts in one day.

Question from a common peon: Isn't anyone allowed to join the Meritocracy?

Not in the circumstances that occurred. Innocence until proven Guilty and Justice tempered with Mercy. We will elaborate further after Comrade Seantor Mammothistan's inquiry as we are still not in full grasp of the facts and reasons.

Firstly, let me say that we have nothing but the deepest respect for what is, or I would hazard a guess to be a very difficult decision for the NPO to make. I salue the Senate of the NPO for dealing with this situation the way they have thus far. Question from a common peon: Isn't anyone allowed to join the Meritocracy? No. The Meritocracy has citizenship instrucitons which can be found here and are publically viewable. merit.jink.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=2699The Meritocracy, as a whole, votes to admit those who, the Senate feels to have "merit". What merit is, is up to each individual Senator. Some Senators challenge an applicant in debate, to earn their "yea" vote, others ask questions about their nation, RP politics, or the politics of Nationstates and even that "real world" that we live in. The Meritocracy allows anyone to apply, but certainly does not allow anyone to join. One must prove one's merit.

Should the NPO Senate require any clarification or information about the facts I have presented on The Meritocracy's forum, they should not hesitate to contact me via private message on merit.jink.org (this is the fastest way to get in touch). Regards, Unistrut Consul Of The Meritocracy

Cortath and Unistrut, as a citizen of the NPO, I thank you for helping in this matter. Hopefully we can all grow from this experience and continue to improve relations with the Meritocracy Senate.

As prosecutor of the NPO, Thorin has been placed in charge of the investigation. I ask that the Meritocracy and ADN provide full cooperation with Thorin, that we may fully understand the situation.

Due to my recent resignation from the Meritocratic Senate/impending semi-retirement from NationStates in general, I will no longer be serving as representative to the NPO from the Senate. I thank those of you who made me welcome on this board, and bid you farewell from an official stand point (I'll still browse/post from time to time)

I am sorry to hear that Argyres. Fare thee well in your Professional pursuit and best wishes from us here. We'll be happy to see you in whatever capacity.
You do however foot your own bill at the bar now you're not official. Sorry just the rules, no rules we'd still be in trees flinging excrement at one another instead of in cyberspace.
I will however foot the first round of *god help me* Ouzo....
