This was long overdue and in accordance with the procedures outlined in the FAQ, I hereby establish the Embassy of The Meritocracy.
In accordance with procedure also outlined in the FAQ it is here and now that I, Ambassador Daedalus, promise and resolve to engage in no acts of espionage against The Pacific Government. I further prohibit the use of the Meritocratic Embassy for any such activity.
Ambassador Daedalus has taken up indefinite residency in this embassy and looks forward to an era of productive cooperation and cultural interchange between our peoples. (In an embarassing OOC event, access to my own board has been greatly impeded.... For how long this will be a problem I know not.) The People and Government of The Pacific have made me welcome here and there is no reason <OOC...yet> why the important elements of my work cannot continue from here as long as is required.
I wish to thank Governor Abysseria and Citizen Lactating Nuns for their time and involvement in the Meritocratic forae. I also wish to thank First Officer and Grand Viceroy Poskrebyshev for his groundbreaking visit to The Meritocracy, personal interest in this exchange and serving in the role as the official Pacific Ambassador.
For now all official diplomatic activity may be conducted in this thread and if traffic warrants it, perhaps a forum dedicated to the Embassy can be requested at a later time.
Thank you and kindest Regards,
Ambassador Daedalus

As a citizen of the NPO, I would like to assure my fellow Pacific nations that have not visited the Meritocracy that their government and its people have been wonderfully welcoming. While the honored ambassador from the Meritocracy has had to defend his reasons for establishing contact with us, I have found their region and its people to be generally open regarding our presence there.
I can say that while there are some nations in the meritocracy that find my existance troubling, for the most part I have been welcomed comfortably and honorably.
As such, I thank the noble Ambassador for his help in securing this peace and for providing my nation with such a hospitable place to visit.
Best regards,
Abysseria

I echo Aby's sentimonies exarctly.
Good job Daedalus, and thanks for all your hard work. But it's Governor Lactating Nuns. Don't get my Z Warriors all hot and bothered! (I am sorry to say that I have done next to nothing yet with relation to my governerial duties, but that will be changing soon.)

My apologies <blush> Governor Lactating Nuns and also congratulations on your promotion!
Thank you and Aby both for dropping in and I'm glad that things have actually worked out rather well.
For the record; Not a whole heck of alot was known about the NPO in the Meritocratic Senate 6 weeks ago. <I had been briefing the Meritocratic Leadership about it though.> The newer Senators especially had few or no reference points from which to form opinions and left solely to the influence of residual propaganda would have assumed a posture of hostility and/or avoidance.
Having this exchange has helped to clarify a great many things and while the project has not been recieved with unanimous approval, it has garnered majority support (roughly 5/6's approval) which considering the project's starting point is still extraordinary. I credit the wide spread "presence of mind" from those in both our regions for helping this diplomatic relationship stay viable and gain political traction.
The exchange has been successful in making and I hope that more such exchanges are in the future.

From what I can tell, it is for serious matters, but anything pertaining to the Embassy can probably be posted. Oh, and just to make you feel bad, Daedalus, I'm a governor too .

Good Day to all, The remarks of Senator Unlimited regarding unimpeded public access to his upcoming concert have cause me to think over questions of "privacy" and exclusivity here. I am having the door to my office removed. This embassy will have an "open door" policy from now on. Privacy and its associated communication is for the 'dachya,' not the office. And Milady Paige, my Meritocratic Wife and Consort, since it is our dachya you should already have the keys

What's up, Daedalus? Meritocratic life got ya down? No need to take a break man. Come chill on the beaches and in the lush forests of Abysseria!

Greetings to everyone from the Pacific and the New Pacific Order.
I am Nova Awe, soon-to-be Senator of the Meritocracy. I've been hearing a lot about the great work that Ambassador Daedalus has been doing here to further diplomatic relations between the Meritocracy and the NPO.
I do know a few of the members of the NPO, as the esteemed Governor Lactating Nuns, and the eloquent Governor Abysseria both contribute to the Meritocracy forums.
As a relatively new nation to NationStates, I don't bring many of the preconceptions that fog the view of many of the older nations. I understand the necessity of a region that only has U.N. delegacy status, as opposed to founder status, to have a different form of government that what many in the Meritocracy are willing to accept. And while I can't begin to truly understand what taking care of such a large region entails, I think I can appreciate the great amount of work that has gone into it.
I would like to offer my services to Ambassador Daedalus to help further the diplomatic relations between the Meritocracy and the NPO. His work is important, and I would like to assist in any capacity that I can.

Greetings Nova!
A pleasure to see you here, and welcome to the Pacific. It is a great day that finds my Meritocratic colleagues joining us here in the Pacific to continue this cultural exchange. In honor of this fantastic event the nation of Abysseria is throwing a party. Join us in the Party with the Meritocracy thread and lets open closed doors and build bridges of Abyssinian Margaritas!
Nova, please feel free to ask any questions you might have about us, or our government.
Best regards, Abysseria

Thank you Governor Abysseria, and Noble Tar A!
I apologise I haven't been around here as much as I should have, I've been quite busy as of late.
I am also pleased to announce that I've been elected to the Senate of The Meritocracy. I hope to help build toward peace in a more official capacity from now on.
