I think much of the credit for these results is yours. Again I express my pleasure at your coming here and boldly making way for others to follow (I hope I am not incorrect at saying this) your path. You've achieved great things, and I do think we owe much to you.
I also hope you'll forgive my shortness in the chatroom earlier this evening; I had a friend over to study with me and although we weren't getting much studying done, my attention wasn't entirely on the room.

Ah! The forum is no longer trapped in the Mega Tokyo flux tube of despair...... Thank you for your kind words Tar A and no apologies are necessary now or in the future about disrupted communications whatever the source. Those things happen. As for paving the way, yours was a noble struggle, one that endeared itself to me early when my explorations suggested a radically different situation here than was commonly believed. The honour was mine to have had a positive effect on it. Nothing is owed to me for it as the fruits of the project now pay all in abundance including myself. The worthiness of the project sang out to me and I answered it with zeal. It took much effort and patience to dethread the misinformation and highlight things as they truly are but now the Foreign Department has political traction and is making excellent progress in its other contacts. Watching what is arising from this is vindication indeed. It has been gratifying and fulfilling to have evolved from such an adversarial relationship to become a friend of the Pacific.

Greetings and Salutations to all Pacificans.
I apologize for my absence from these forae these past weeks. As some of you were likely aware, our Meritocracy became divided and embroiled over issues raised by a former Senator and founding father and some of his followers. Our legal system became saturated with petitions to resolve various conflicts. A few Senators have resigned and have devoted their attention to other endeavours. I wish them well in such.
For a time I feared our Meritocracy would collapse and lamented that the spirit of comraderie and common purpose had fled our halls for environs unknown. It has however emerged from this crisis empowered with new and capable talent as well as under the guidance of tried and tested leadership, resolved to address those issues which have caused such internecine discord.
It is good to be back to the business of diplomacy.
Suu Kyi.

No problem Who was this former senator anyway? He would be a founding member by the Name of Lord Tom of Thomasia. Some of these disagreements occurred in our public threads so this is no real secret. He went on to found a group called the "Black Guard" which has lapsed into apparant inactivity. You may find more information by visiting "The Meritocratic Republic" in Nation States. My own Nation States access is almost non-existent these days so I have not seen it in a while. In my opinion, Lord Tom's actions contributed to our conflict but were not at all the sole cause.

Just checking in with all the good people of the Pacific.
Real life has intruded into my participation these past few weeks and I have been much less active than before. Hopefully things will lighten up by next month.
I remain an ambassador representing the Meritocracy but in the event another is appointed to that role, shall continue to be involved on this forum.
Pax Pacifica!

I am Senator Unistrut of The Meritocracy, the Quaestor (Foreign Minister but with a bit more authority). I am here in an official capacity as a representative of the Meritocratic government. My presence should in no way be construed as replacing Daedalus's- he's still the Ambassador. Instead, I am here to show the emphasis which I am placing on NPO/Merit relations. Let me elucidate. It is my belief that there is more to be had from diplomatic and civil discourse. I will be frank with you- I am one of the most vocal critics of this regime in the Senate. I'm not going to turn this thread into an "NPO good or bad" debate. That is ultimately up to the nations residing in The Pacific. I am willing, however, to provide you with an understanding of how The Meritocracy works, and why there are so many vociferous objections in our Senate over the activities of the NPO. I believe that a constructive dialog here can avoid future misunderstandings. Any questions for me can be answered here or on merit.jink.org.

Greetings to all Pacificans,
This will be my final post representing the Meritocracy as an ambassador for I have resigned my Senate post in the Meritocracy.
This was voluntary and noone put pressure on me to do this. I felt that I had accomplished all that I could in that role and it was time to step aside and let newer talent earn their spurs. There are other things which warrant my attention both in RL and possibly in Nation States. I would like to continue to leave my nation of Aung San Suu Kyi here in the Pacific while I consider what to do next.
A new ambassador will likely be forthcoming and I welcome them wholeheartedly and turn this embassy over to them upon arrival.
The majority of the Meritocratic Senate are composed of articulate and intelligent people and I encourage and promote continued interaction with them.
Kindest Regards,
Suu Kyi

This is a sad day for both The Meritocracy and the NPO, your intelligence and open mindedness will certainly be missed here in the Embassy. Surely you have been the voice of reason, and I hope that you will still visit us to pass along your words of wisdom.

I am thinking maybe we could discuss possibility of finding something for you in return for your merit. I shall ask. You were quite the exception in the Meritocracy, Daedalus. Safe journeys, Comrade.

With the resignation of Senator Daedalus I will be performing Ambassadorial duties here until a permanent replacement can be found. As if you can find a replacement for someone like Daedalus.
