Aah, time for a little spring cleaning. I have again managed to neglect this thread for several weeks, and I apologize for that.
I thank Chosen Men for his interest in helping to keep the more offensive nations out of the Pacific. With regard to Chosen Men's initial post in this thread, given my current endorsement level, exemptions are no longer made for inappropriately named nations who grant me their endorsements. That said, the nations you cited, Lazy Stoned Bastards and Niki-Nympho, fall just within the bounds of 1008. LSB's profanity isn't hostile or insulting, and it uses only a mild swear word, and as such it is allowed to stay. Niki-Nympho was actually contacted personally by comrade Mussolandia, and has since compromised by changing her flag and motto, which had previously been grounds for expulsion. Her willingness to accept her error and make an effort to remedy it was more than enough to earn her her place in the region.
Also, Chosen Men, every subsequent nation you reported was indeed in violation of 1008 and has been removed. For the record, a nation named GyroMonkeyFuk is unambiguously in violation. I'm also happy to say that the mods have taken care of (and I cringe to repeat the name) Liquidy Fesces.
I have been making a few kills of my own thanks to the notifications of nation foundings. Is everybody else finding them equally helpful? I know a lot of inappropriately named nations move from the Pacific shortly after being created, but a good idea is to immediately put any new nations you see who are in violation of the Civil Code into your dossier, then report them the next day if they remain in the region.
I again must offer my thanks and appreciation to all those who have contributed to this thread. If anyone feels they have met the requisite number of prosecutions for the attainment of Legion status, please do not hesitate to let me know.

Try to keep things in perspective, I sincerely doubt you'd allow much of that in your region. Actually, Democratic Underground is currently discussing trial procedures for ejecting nations from our region- check it out for yourself at s3.invisionfree.com/DU_Region. Just so I'm certain I understand this correctly, I wanted to post several potential violators of Code 1008 that I spotted, so that I can personally experience the process: "The Community of Acidheads" "The Republic of Burning Pits of Hell" "The People's Republic of YouR-_-MoM - Motto: "Feel free to have sex" Obviously a drug reference, and the second smacks inappropriate  The third one is just obvious. And: "1005: Harassment of a fellow Pacifican either in public or by telegram." Does publicly requesting indiscriminant endorsements constitute harassment under Code 1005? |
