VIA DIPLOMATIC POUCH
While this is not an official Embassy, nevertheless in accordance with Ambassadorial procedure outlined in the FAQ, I hereby establish the Interest Section of the West Pacific.
In accordance with that procedure it is here and now that I, Sidney Lanier II, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the West Pacific, promise and resolve to engage in no acts of espionage against The Pacific Government. I further prohibit the use of this Interest Section for any such activity.
Individually, I wish to offer my Diplomatic Credentials to El Caudillo and to Grand Viceroy Poskrebyshev for their inspection and acceptance.
I look forward to a frank and mutually profitable exchange.

Daedalus also sends his regards Envoy Lanier Inc.
May your work here be fruitful. I am personally optimistic about as well as curious to see what arises from the growing cooperation between the Pacifics.
Good luck and feel welcome to drop in on the Meritocratic Embassy any time. Be sure to schedule in time to take in one of (Senator) Maestro Unlimited's public symphonic performances at the Pacific Workers' Common.
Ambassador Aung San Suu Kyi (Daedalus)

Greetings to All in the Pacific
I have been selected by Lanier, Inc., approved by the West Pacific Delegate, Norion, to be the Charge d'Affaires for this Interest Section.
As per the FAQ (great job on that, BTW) I hereby promise that I will not commit acts of espionage against the Pacific, or aid any groups hostile to the Pacific.
It is my wish to see improved understanding and improved relations between the peoples of your region and the West Pacific. If you have questions or concerns regarding the WP please feel free to post them here, IM me or tgram my nation (although I get a lot of tgrams - an IM is probably better).
A special hello to SuuKyi/Daedalus; I must apologize for not responding to your post to me in another thread on this forum. RL had overtaken me (including a broken arm; remember to take ice skating lessons BEFORE going ice skating) but recent events have allowed me some time to return to NS.
As Chairman Lanier said, I look forward to a frank and mutually profitable exchange.

Greetings Envoy Berhampore, I too have been distracted as real life has been more intrusive in recent weeks. No apologies are necessary. It is good that Chairman Lanier is now involved in developing the Pacific/West Pacific relationship. He is most articulate and capable and the relationship will benefit greatly from his expertise. I am glad your injuries were not more serious than stated and wish you a speedy recovery. I too had a close brush with disaster being hit by a car while crossing a street two weeks ago. Fortunately I got out of that one with only a folded bike and equally folded pride. Pax Pacifica, Suu Kyi (Daedalus)

Thank you for your understanding Suu Kyi/Daedalus (which do you prefer here?). I can almost type full speed again so it looks like I'm not getting that hook after all (and with Van Helsing coming out, it looks like hooks are out, buzzsaws are in - darn, it would be cool to have one). We of the West Pacific are willing to have an open relationship with the Pacific. While some still cling to old rivalries, others are looking towards a far different future. I hope to be help, in some small way, to bring that future about. Hmm, that sounded stuffy and serious; good counterpoint for the buzzsaw thing.

Quick question: Do you wish for this forum to be considered sovereign West Pacific grounds, as an embassy, or do you wish this to remain a consulate (at least until our relations improve)?

Consulate, thank you. The MiniFor cannot yet open an embassy in the Pacific due to reasons I hinted at in my last post. Hence this remains an "Interest Section" and I a humble "Charge de Affairs" - it does look impressive on my door plate however

Interesting to note that no agreements have been made on the part of our good friends here to not commit any acts of espionage against the West Pacific.
How can the question of sovereignity be raised if this simple agreement cannot be made public?

As you have not made our legation in the W Pacific open to the people of the W Pac such assertions have indeed not been made public. As told to your heirarchy before by myself on behalf of Comrade Franco and the NPO the Pacific has no designs on the W Pac nor any desire to influence events there.
I trust such a statement publicly made assuages any questions you may have and I'm sure the W Pac Gov't will take a more 'Public' stance in their committment to formalize relations in the future.

(appause) Oh, well done; just like a theater complete with backdrop ;D
Interestingly enough, MVS has been accused of being Kurdiazstan (can never spell that right) aka Mauripol aka Zhdanov (?). A black hearted traitor to the WP that left there vowing allegience to the NPO. Last we heard Francos wasn't fooled and said he'd have to take over an 'enemy' region single handedly to get back in good graces. Since MVS is the appointed Vice Delegate and now leader in our Delegate elections, it seems he is making good on this.
No one of course has said the NPO is involved; its just that MVS seems to be interested in giving FS a gift; maybe his birthday is comming up?
That said, I think it quite inappropriate of our beloved Vice Delegate to make this statement here in this forum. As guests here, MiniFor Lanier and myself have complied with their resonable request - have we made a similar request of them (BA et al) on our forum? Not that I know of. In anycase it is their choice, especially, as BA points out, their section is not public on our offsite.
I have to apologize to the people of the Pacific for this airing of our dirty laundry, as well as the bit of somewhat inappropriate commentary.

You forgot to mention the convenient 'disappearance' of the entire topic which contained that 'dirty laundry'. Something smells distinctly pilchard-flavoured in your region.

Follow that with the disapparence of our MiniFor from the offsite forum too. At least he is still in the WP.
Ironically I feel safer posting here than in my own regional offsite ;D

Zhadnov was a traitor to the revolution and sent packing. If MVS is indeed Zhadnov/Mauripol.... ? I question why they would be taking th eW PAc for the NPO. While Comrade Franco may be indeed charming and well spoken he is certainly not the hypnotic Svengali people make him out to be. If there is a threat to your leadership it is not from us. Let's think about this critically for a moment. How would Franco maintain control over someone who is outside the Pacific? People can claim all they wish but the simple fact is this- the NPO is not expansionist. Human nature dictates that the delegate of a feeder will never subordinate themselves to anyone. That kind of power only allows an individual to ally themselves with a like minded group not serve. To take any other region if we were so inclined would only serve to set up a like minded leader with no real sense of duty nor any ways to reign in such an individual. Diplomacy is far more rewarding with far less effort. What did you mean by the comment that this was like a theatre? Did that insinuate some rehearsal? I'm unclear. As far as the airing of dirty laundry I wouldn't trouble yourself overly. We're most used to seeing the underwear of those we have prosecuted and banished fluttering in the breeze for all to gaze and wonder at in the various forums which they migrate to. Such is the nature of the political arena.
