I can see this, BA, and, as said, I understand your frustration with this matter. Being in a no-win situation always bites. But, sometimes you have to be the bigger person and step forward, despite what one's rivals state. Is it surrendering sovereignty? I am not sure. Evidence, of some sort, has been forwarded by the accusers. Perhaps the high road is in order?

Perhaps a compromise then. We furnish our IP's and they furnish the IP's for all their membership then we can cross reference for the known agitators here under false pretenses. They get what they want and then we can secure ourselves as well, I'm sure they could see the benefit in that.
The high road is being discussed. I thank you for your level headedness Caer Rialis. There's been precious little of that as of late.

I have no idea how to access IP's and, well, I'm only a member of my own regions government, so I cannot offer any further negotiations on this. Yeah, I am the voice of reason. Wibble

IP's are registered everytime someone uses a board like this. For us to supply an IP is a) an invasion of privacy since its like putting an unlisted telephone number up for all to see and b) won't make them happy when its not a match because they'll say we gave them a bogus one. Then will come the demands to be allowed Admin access to see our records for themselves. We can't limit them with that kind of access as its tantamount to ripping the locks off the doors for whoever looks and we can't keep them in the correct room while they are looking. There comes the sovereignity issue. Were the roles reversed we'd be told to go pound salt. As I said discussion is going on about an acceptable outcome if any.

Oh, I know what IP's are, BA and, yeah, itis an invasion of privacy to post them, especially on an open board. And, of course, I understand a need to keep certain matters private, especially as relates to security issues. Open discussion is one thing, but I never believe one should hold one's own neck to an opponent's knife.
I am only looking at ways to lower the tension throughout much of the regions of the Pacific. The IP idea was yours, but I am sure others can be thought up by keener minds than yours and mine

If you want my IP, just get on IRC sometime and I'll give it to you....it's no secret.

Maybe he's trying to make a statement Personally I feel recording and using IPs for most reasons is a little invasive... as long as efforts are made purely when necessary to ensure security, I've got no beef with it though.

I know what he's doing. Given our popularity NS wide for any of us to have an IP floating publicly would be the beginning of hilarity ensues.
There was a fellow once who made fun of the Engineering faculty in the University I attended through anonymous ads in the Student Newspaper which was free to post. They found out who he was and where he lived and sent him Taxis, Pizzas, Escorts,Franklin Mint collector's plates, put his Mother's car up for sale dead cheap, posted ads in the free papers that his hide a bed was for sale, phone sex number ads with his number. You get the idea. There was a profuse apology in the next week's edition begging them to stop. I'd hate the idea of getting non stop Donkey Porn and Ron Jeremy updates if mine were posted.

Not so funny, because such things are becoming sort of common place. There's no end to what damage a morally bereft computer nerd can do

Members of the old North Pacific regime are spamming the regional HQ board virtually 24/7 with messages asking people to endorse them and saying pretty bad things about UPS Rail.
Since I find even a 3-day inactive like UPS Rail preferable to the old North Pacific oligarchy, I went over there and posted rebuttals to some of what they were saying. The responses I got were hilarious. One new nation asked if I was an invader; an old North Pacific elite replied "No, he is a well-known member of the NPO come to argue".
Well-Known Member of the NPO, eh? Those must have been some pretty awesome 11 posts I've made here. ;D

But, on a more serious note, has the NPO made any official statements on the situation in the North Pacific?

Warrior Thorin,
You are correct. My evidence is not a smoking gun, it merely shows a link between two individuals in Bakersfield. Identified as having IP addresses in the same area. Far from conclusive, but a bit above circumstance.
It is quite possible that someone cut, and then pasted the quotes. Modifying for relevence to the discussion.
It would be nice if UPS Rail made such statements...
The NP may hold a trial on these actions if UPS Rail requests. I will do so on his behalf, seeing as he has been ejected from the forum, and thus unable to make such a request in the forum.
Although the trail will be straight out of To Kill a Mockingbird, it would be nice to have one.
For the NPs sake, of course. It would prove to them their constitution holds some validity.
