Forums were insane. I still remember the Pacifics having 20000 nations+ EACH. I was pretty active fighting Invaders before there was such a thing as defenders. We never did it because we thought we must fight for right, just helping people out. No agenda, no accolades. I really miss the old days before all the Mods and rules, was like the wild west. Oh well, progress. The Pacifics never had that many nations They used to have just over 1,000 each... If you look back through some of the old threads on this forum, you can see posts about it.

I certainly remember twenty thousand strong Pacifics. I also remember when most of the other Pacific regions were being created, including the ACC invasion of the West Pacific.
When I was n00b I stayed withinside my own region for a few months before leaving the commune to explore the world, as all Mammothistani youth are prone to do.

You sure they were 20,000+? Maybe that was back in the day when it was only the South Pacific... I'm fairly sure they were more around 1,200.

I joined in July 2003, at first I was solving the issues (I never got tired of doing these, I created about 20 nations just to do this) but then I started to get the same ones over and over again. Then I started to get interested in NS politics, I joined the Empire of Power and I started to get more involved in the game. However, I only really stopped being a n00b when I stopped swallowing the anti-Franco lies I was fed. To my shame I once fought against the great man, I still cringe when I remember the sort of stupid thing I actually believed. That's why I feel sympaphy for the young nations that blindly throw themself against sanity like waves against the rocks. They are to young to know any better. My oldest nation is 2.369 billion, so I don't think I'm at the level of Dinosaur, but perhaps I would qualify as a Sabre toothed tiger.

The regional happenings would scroll by every 2 minutes 24 hours a day. When the update would delete inactives it generated a breeze for a couple of minutes. That was when it really took off in Jan '03. It died down alot after March when the nature of the game weeded out the " I n00k j00!!!!111111" types. The East Pacific was maybe a thousand at the beginning, it didn't start growing until after the RRA tried to take it and the Stalinist Griefing. I've wasted alot of time playing this game.......

I joined in Febuary '03 and sat around answering issues for 4 months. Then in June, I introduced it to a forum I'm part of. I've been the delegate of our small region for a year now.
My first nation's at 3.8 billion, and I have a few puppets in the 2 billion range.

Man the days of 20, 000+
I remember those days, so many people it was almost hard to keep up with the regional boards, The Meritocarcy had the greatest idea of the off sites, now it seems that more and more of the in game things are left alone and delt with on the off sites.....
*shakes head wondering when it all became so much BS in NS......*

I joined July of 2003...I mucked around in Greece and Byzantium for some time, before starting some puppets and moving to the Meritocracy in October (or so)...where I've been ever since.

Byzantium? I keep running into you in the strangest places Argyres. I was there last year and all of a sudden an Invasion is falling down. I seem to have an uncanny skill at being in the wrong place at the right time. If I could only translate that into picking horses I'd be refitting my Dacha for all year round living....

Regretfully I cannot. It was Summer I think. So much time in this game gets crammed into a Grey mass if it wasn't specific to me I tend to forget. I should keep better notes.

I started in Aug. '03. My main nation is about 1.5 bil, but I have larger ones because my main nation died for a while. I started out staying in my own region until I allied with the commonwealth of solaris about the time I also joined the FBI (Shergar know the rest of my history along that path). I began the throwing of myself against the Pacific, and continued that until thursday or so, when I decided that any objections I actually had could be dealt with in a civil and respectful manner. So here I am, a changed person, and slightly less n00bish than I was before. I still love a good spam occasionally, though. Not the taunting ones, the funny ones.
