Welcome! My personal favorite thing that people do is when they are about to lose power because of a failed delegacy, they claim there is an NPO invasion and the international community rushes in to prop up the failed despot. I don't know why people don't understand that a province without an army has a hard time invading. Absolutely correct Senator. It is more than frustrating having to fight the spin doctoring. It appears we are a convenient Scapegoat for whenever someone's hand is caught in the proverbial cookie jar. I liken it to Reagan's balanced approach towards all things Communist in Central America. I marvel at how often art imitates life in this game. I wonder often if anyone will actually see the parallels later. The Pacific Army as White Russians, the deposed regime being accorded permanent Security council status in the NS world much like Taiwan. Red Purges in other regions to mask their own ambitions. I wonder why it is acceptable to mask their own grips on power cloaked in the justification of a constitution written by those who are determined to maintain the power. Perhaps its because they haven't the courage to accept what they and the game rules have made them, despots. I guess the only way we can ever hope for actual acceptance is to hold elections every 3 months with a carefully promoted group who will be consistently re elected to give the pretense it is a free society here. Personally I'd rather give up the political nonsense for a benevolent dictatorship like the NPO and be able to communicate freely as opposed to voting in a sham of a democracy and having to guard my words for fear of being branded an agitator.

there is a thread in the ADN forum named the same and with the same creator, but it has taken a different turn.

there is a thread in the ADN forum named the same and with the same creator, but it has taken a different turn. No doubt. ADN is known for their level analysis amongst their membership *sarcasm*. Too many of them ache for a fight which makes me question is it a whitewashed Invader club or a genuine organization which is unable to control the membership. I hadn't the patience to listen to the bias or lack of originality. Although, I was impressed by a couple of the Met Senators in there. It was refreshing to see diplomacy and a sense of balance. Only because of those two I can't discount the entire ADN. Shame its turned out as it has, it held great promise.

Strange. Very Strange indeed.
This ADN group seems to have many opinions of us yet Ive not seen any of them here finding out for themselves the subject about which they claim to have such great knowledge.
Logically, one has to then wonder what other claims this group makes that are inherently false.

Some have come here and changed their views of the NPO, -El Cid-.
While the ADN does have a large contingent of anti-NPO regions but not all members are staunchly against it.
As with any open forum the more extreme views tend to be the loudest.

Hello,
I guess I could be percievced as one of those vicious ADN types because of my role in the North Pacific and by default our support of the ADN. I guess my misgivings about the NPO come down to my feelings on dictatorship. I will state that I have been treated with the utmost courtesy here and will try to do the same in a spirit of honesty and openess.
I'm here of my own volition and not in any official capacity of The North Pacific, I just got tired hiding in the shadows looking for a boogey-man that does not exist. I sometimes wish my peers could see this point of view and stop jumping at shadows.

PS: I have a feeling that I may not hold any office in the NP after this post but....Que sera.

Welcome Nem. If the NP shuns you for approaching the beast then they are the poorer for it.
I get the idea we are necessary for those who oppose us. If we didn't exist there would be no one to rally around their desperate need to dictate how the world should be. We are their raison d'etre. Without us NS would be a rather lonely place for them.
That having been said it doesn't make it any more acceptable for their obsessive and twisted views. Enjoy your stay, I'm glad to make your aquaintance.

Giving an update of sorts I must say I can no longer persue membership within the NPO because I am now the official Meritocractic Ambassador To The Pacific! I hope to be as successful as my predecessor(sp?) Deadalus and expand upon Meritocratic-Pacific relations in my new role.
