Today's issue for our communal puppet, please feel free to lodge your vote and participate in the debate. (Dilemma #66) - "Transsexual Demands Recognition in Chosen Gender" The IssueAfter the tabloid magazine "The Bun" outed a supermodel to have been born male, the state has anulled her marriage to her husband. The Debate- Option 1: "I have gone through 20 years of internal pain about my external appearance and I put so much effort and money into finally having the world see the real me!" says transsexual activist Freddy Jong-Il. "The government needs to recognize my true gender as well as cover the surgeries and medicines needed to get me where I am today!"
- Option 2: "Transsexuals are delusional if they think they will ever be members of their gender they wish they were." says right-wing radio show host Thomas Wu. "It is a biological fact that our gender is determined by our chromosomes, anyone who tries to act like the gender they are not should be immediately arrested and taken to a psychiatrist!"
- Option 3: "You know everyone, gender isn't a black and white proposition," states self-identified "genderqueer" Akira Christmas "There are XX males, XY females, and many people who have ambigious sexual characteristics or just don't feel they belong in the category male or female, the government must recognize our existence!"

I think this is a new nominee for worst issue ever. I don't think the government should pay for sex change operations, I don't want to arrest transsexuals, and I don't think gender should be determined on non-physical grounds. I would just dismiss, but I guess NS is supposed to be silly and needlessly exaggerated. A reluctant option three it is.
And sheesh, this issue's been around for months and "annulled" is STILL misspelled.

If they can't spell, then I dismiss!
Plus, I hate this issue as well as many of the others...

No, I think that the 'file-sharing' issue (otherwise known as the "dang, yo, man" issue) was worse.
The effect line for the first option says nothing about it being government funded, it actually sounds rather positive (I can't think what it is right now, but I don't know all). Although I don't know about the stats.
Hey, what about me? Aren't I infallible too??
*sulks*
Dark Citadel, thanks, it was Franco's idea ;)
