(Dilemma #31) - "Get Efficient, Private Sector Tells Nature" The IssueA group of prominent business identities has proposed privatizing The New Pacific Order's beaches. The Debate- Option 1: "Have you been to the beach lately? It's disgusting," says company spokesperson George W. Longfellow. "There's litter, there's teenagers smoking, and there are people enjoying themselves without paying for it. Let the private sector in on this, and The New Pacific Order's beaches will be the talk of the region! And a nice little earner, too."
- Option 2: "Whoa, whoa, we're privatizing beaches now?" says local campaigner Roger Nagasawa. "These are public spaces! All The New Pacific Order's citizens have a right to enjoy them, not just the well-off. Yes, we should improve the quality of our beaches, but handing them over to the money-grabbers is not the right way to do it. The right way to do it is to boost government spending by increasing taxes."

Just a thought, but perhaps you could add an option to dismiss the issue, in general, since that's a valid option and probably what I would vote for on this particular issue.
Anyway, thanks for taking this up Tar, baby. Long live the People's Puppet!

I'm going ahead and choosing option one, but fair point, Nuns. I do dismiss options for my nations on several occaisions. I would like to know if anyone else has an opinion on this before I change the format, though.

I dismiss most of the old ones Ive received recently. Ive banned HArry Potter several dozen times Im sure, but the damn thing keeps coming back so I just dismiss it. I think it makes your citizens more stupid or something.
Basically, yeah we should be able to dismiss them, but not until issues start repeating.

I'm all for dismissing repeats. I dismiss most of mine.

Basically, yeah we should be able to dismiss them, but not until issues start repeating. Why not? I dismiss issues because sometimes I feel none of the options reflect how I would deal with the issue, or that I simply wouldn't enact legislation to deal with it. It's action through inaction. Dismissing is a valid option whether it's a repeat or not, IMO.

I agree with Nuns, in fact that's what I meant in my own post. Just a dismiss for options I don't like.
Repeat issues should not be automatically dismissed, because there's only so many in the system, and not every nation is elligible for every one. Besides, the nation won't change very quickly if we start ignoring repeats.
