I often fantasize about Herbert Hoover. Why? You cruising? Herbert Hoover? I don't see him as either arrogant or ignorant. He simply did not realize the scope of the Depression. Now, Chosen Men, I am not sure of your definition of elitism. To me, elitism denotes one who will look down his nose at another and disregard much of their suffering.

Some may consider that to be true, Caer. I see elitism more like the chivilrous code that nobility obligates (la noblesse oblige). Do I consider myself better than most: Yes! Better than all: NO! But for the ones over which I am better, I am obligated. My faith requires this of me. The greatest of all is the servant of all.

Sarda, that's the point. The difference between ignorance and arrogance is right there in the answer! It's not me persoanlly saying I don't want to know.

Ok, ok, point made. Well done Herbert Hoover: nasty ol' fart if I might so say myself. My view of the world... once humans realize the nature of their own equality, we can better serve as the stewards of this earth. I'm a Buddho-Realist... what would anyone expect from that?

OK - now we're talking Buddho-Realism. I have to say I've never heard of that before, but then again I've lead a sheltered life.
I guess you can lay off the propaganda - the conversation has been successfully diverted.

I'm a Buddhist, but I don't always believe that the inherit good of people shines through. I believe that in the real world, there are certain things that have to be done for humanity as it is right now to take on a path of prosperity, tolerance, and success.. things that don't involve mass murder or anything (god forbid), just thinks that don't necessarily fit in perfectly with mainstream or even far-out Buddhism. Hence: Buddho-Realist.

Fair enough...we just have different views on what is elite.......Hmmmmmm, the Elite Ranks of Chosen Men for your new national title?

Can someone who is in the NPO please explain to me, once again, how it is that Francos is obtaining delegate votes either a) as a vacation or b) as one of the rulers of a peaceful nation. If this is a perversion of the truth tell me how and why because I would like to know. As for Francos explaining 'when the time is right' I think our noble and benevolent chieftain might be leaving too much room for the convenient truths of subversives (i.e. he is an opressor whos only goal is to steal freedom) if he does that, in my humble noobie opinion.

As for elitism, I think the idea of considering yourself better than others is pretty heavy by itself. In what way is any person "better" than others? Is it in who you are or what you do? Inherently isn't everyone starting at the same spot and if they aren't is it any choice of theirs? And if not that then in action aren't we all making mistakes everyday that affect of people? Is one mistake less regrettable because of who knows about it or because of its indication of our deep seeded desire to be irresponsible, overly self-aware and in the end proud. Once again, my humble noobie opinion.

I'm being quizzed about Francos actions over in the WP, can someone give me something to tell them? I don't want to say the wrong thing and make relations worse than they already are! PM me would probably be best.

hmmm.. I think the strong lack of response tells us a lot more than we might have learned from an actual post.l But I was hoping to get some sort fo explanation that makes sense.

I think it's because nobody was around the forums when you asked First off, Francos isn't in the WP Secondly, he was in the NP to attempt to gain the delegacy at a time when no one held it. Right now, he's been inactive for 6 days, so no one really knows exactly what's happening. But the original idea of Francos travelling to the NP, was to hopefully ascend to the delegacy before some reube took over and made a mess out of another pacific region.

Well, it looks like he failed. This region is in as big of a mess as any I've ever seen. You have a delegate who is obviously a spoiled little boy who just likes ejecting people for the heck of it. And it seems pretty obvious to me that the NPO is hip deep in causing this mess. You've got Francos sitting with around 60 endorsements with out getting booted. Anyone else who gets more that 20 or so is booted. You've got many well known NPO nations involved there such as Black adder, -El Cid-, and Warrior Thorin. The NPO has long claimed that it is not interested in expansion. This is obviously not true. Despite all of the retoric to the contrary, the NPO is after domination of all of the Pacifics. You may have some fooled, but most are beginning to see the truth.
This statement is made as a private citizen of The South Pacific and in no way represents the official position of the government.

Then perhaps if you accuse us of rhetoric so freely you yourself should be careful where you point your finger.
Franco did not move into the NP until Moderation overstepped its authority and stripped Great Bight. We moved to bring some stability to the situation. Given the turnovers in the NP the citizenry obviously weren't being too careful who they endorsed. Great Bight didn't come out of nowhere.
You mention a mess. It is. You can thank your friends in the ADN for helping to put together poorly formed invasion plans and being generally unhelpful. We will not be leaving until there is some order. As far as Bight not ejecting Franco he is not a threat since we don't want the place as evidenced by our lack of endorsement whoring unlike Blackshears and company.
Perhaps you would do better do try and speak with the Pirates like we have instead of flailing about like chickens with their heads cut off. Only then will we be getting a resolution to this PEACEFULLY, not at the point of a bayonet like the ADN deems necessary.

My thoughts on the NPO expansionist thing: I always thought expansion meant building an empire by just moving in and taking over any region. Taking the North Pacific is a different sort of monster all together. After all, didn't the North Pacific declare themselves our enemies and keep working against us even when other regions were welcoming us. With the NP government thrown out and the region sent into chaos, why wouldn't it be natural to go in and try to destroy your enemy once and for all? It's a completely different situation which doesn't make the NPO the all-consuming beast you try to make it out to be with your expansionism rhetoric. Wakarimasu desu ka? Anyway those are my thought's as they came to my head, hope I don't sound too rambling.
