Well, we've just passed our 10th issue for our puppet, and I thought I'd take this opportunity so see what's happened between now and then. When the nation was created, its Civil Rights, Economy, and Political freedoms were all at "Good." Currently, they are "Excellent," "Reasonable," and "Some" respectively. The nation is still an Inoffensive Centrist Democracy, but experienced several days as Democratic Socialists before switching back to the former. Oh, and it's got poor weather Unfortunately, I didn't record the nation's tax rate at its inception, but it currently stands at 16%. I'll try to make one of these threads for every tenth issue to better document the path we're leading it.

It looks like it's passed upon me to do this now, so without further ado, here we are.
Excellent Civil Rights (stayed the same), Reasonable Economy (stayed the same), and Few Political Freedoms (down a step). It became a Corrupt Dictatorship a few days after I took it over (I'd like to think that's coincidental, though).
The tax rate at the beginning had to be 13%, because that's the tax rate for all new Inoffensive Centrist Democracy nations. It's now 23%, so we're gradually giving out more funding.
It's ranked fairly decently as far as Soda Pop Sectors go, for a new nation - but probably because Soda Sales are the main industry.

We've got to get that tax rate down. I hate people living off the public coffers...

Well in my nation, give a man a fish and he can clone it. Problem solved!

Well then stop voting to fund stuff! Don't look at me, you're the ones who are raising the tax rate I will have to pay attention next time the 'Trout Fishing' rankings come up

All right, don't anyone look in the archive and figure out that it's been more than ten issues since the last progress report, but here we are.
Still a Corrupt Dictatorship, with 'Below Average' Civil Rights (down four steps), 'Good' Economy (went up two steps), and Political Freedoms at 'Unheard Of' (down two steps). Tax rate at 24%, so it only went up a little.
I didn't see trout fishing sectors come up, but it has a decent mining sector, for its size. 28,125th out of 121,775. (Uranium Mining is now its largest sector.)

Well, that's not too bad, is it? We're getting better, aren't we?

Comrade Abysseria, I believe it is a poor display of this region's performance to be ruling a "corrupt dictatorship" with disappointing grading on civil rights and political freedoms, not even countered by significant economical progress.
But, if you say we are getting better, I'll trust your word.

Yeah, yeah, but it's difficult enough to shape a nation the way you want even when it's just you making the decisions.
At first I thought Corrupt Dictatorship was hilarious, but I'm growing a bit bored of it myself. If we lower Civil Rights a bit more and continue raising the economy, we should be able to become a 'Father Knows Best State' or 'Iron Fist Consumerists.'
Or we could just lower everything and become a Psychotic Dictatorship. That would be fun too.

We'll just pretend I'm doing this every tenth issue.
Still a Corrupt Dictatorship, with 'Good' Civil Rights (up two steps), 'Good' Economy (stayed the same), and Political Freedoms at 'Unheard Of' (stayed the same). Tax rate at 32%, up quite a bit.
Our citizens have a very average level of compassion.
Uranium Mining still the largest sector. Pretty boring, if you ask me.

Sounds like a rut to me.
I noticed that our puppet was 10,000th or so in the world for largest Soda Sales several days ago, which is the nation's second biggest industry. Maybe Tar saved the exact figure.
And I thought Corrupt dictatorship was [medium, low, low]. Shouldn't take much to tip the scale.

The only ranking I have is 1139th in the region and 24,896th in the world for Largest Soda Pop Sector, on 3/4/04.
And one would think that scale mostly works, but I have an 'Inoffensive Centrist Democracy' (medium on all three levels) floating around somewhere at Excellent, Frightening, and Very Good. *shrugs*

Bad news first, good news last.
Bad: still an effing Corrupt Dictatorship (I believe we're stuck in a rut. I suggest anyone who's tired of this starts voting extreme). 'Some' Civil Rights (down two steps), 'Reasonable' Economy (down two steps), and 'Outlawed' Political Freedoms (down one step - this is now the very lowest it can go). Tax rate at 34%, up two percent. A very poor show, we aren't treating our puppet too well.
We are the 35,519th largest nation in the world (um, yay).
Good news: the population will exceed 500 million in about two hours! (I'm going to bed before then, so making the announcement now.) This means that we get to define a custom pre-title for the nation. Currently, we are The People's Republic of The New Pacific Order... tomorrow, we can be anything we wish.
Please, everyone, post suggestions here of what we should change it to. I'm excited over being able to do this, but haven't any good ideas myself. So speak up! ;D
