Hello. Thought I'd better do what the FAQ said and come here and introduce myself post-haste.
If you want to have a look at my little nation, I might add that in the actual game it's called "Angst and Pain"... The Forum wasn't inclined to let me have spaces between them words.
Anyhow... I'm here, I'm rambling.
And yes, I am a unimaginative little gothgirl.
So there.
Well, Cheers.
Queen of Angst (and Pain. On holidays).

Welcome to The Pacific, I don't believe we've had an unimaginative little gothgirl before, so forward with diversity.
You can add gaps in your name by going to "Profile" and editing it (although you would still have to log-in with the name you registeted with).

Greetings to all in the Pacific. While far from new to the Pacific, I have decided to keep and renew my relationship to the Pacific. Over these past few months I have grown quite attached to this region and its struggle which to this day is underappreciated in the Nation States community. Most of you know by now that I have resigned my Senate seat in the Meritocracy, a painful act which I had put off for some time as I have great love for that organization and it is the home of good and respected friends. While I have contended within the Meritocratic Senate over its political direction and its choice of allies still feel that there is much talent and good will there and needed to step aside to let more of that talent come forth and establish itself. None the less I need to be true to my beliefs and ideals and have no regrets over what has been my primary involvement in Nation States and that is to promote interaction with and a better understanding of the New Pacific Order. I had achieved all that could be achieved in realizing that goal as Senator Daedalus and decided to "retire" him for the collective good of all as well as to preserve the good that was done to date. Useful things can still be done even with the time restrictions I currently face (OOC We are moving my parents to a new house, preparing the old one for sale, and simultaneously seeking a house for ourselves; A busy summer ahead to say the least. I was also promoted at work and am more busy there.) Needless to say, my presence has been sharply scaled back and will remain so for a while. It remains my belief that the Pacific, for better or for worse, <and I think better> in concert with the other Pacifics will be one of the top, if not THE primary moulding influence in the evolving Nation States diaspora. I still have a strong belief in the Meritocracy's likelihood of being a part of that grand consortium when it unfolds and hope that this belief is well founded. What remains of my capability in helping the Pacific fulfill its destiny appears to me now to be best employed as a citizen of the Pacific. After several days of consideration it is my wish to reside in a "working retirement" within the Pacific and to become "tovarisch" with all of you. Hail Francos Spain!

I bid my personal greetings and welcome to those who have lodged posts in this thread. I particularly offer my warm greetings to Comrade Aung San Suu Kyi.
You are indeed far from new to the Pacific, but we accept and appreciate your introduction nonetheless.
I regret your departure from your position in the Meritocracy, but am understanding of your motivations for doing such. I hope that that group can restore themselves to their former glory, as it were, in spite of your absence, via the talent you mentioned emerging to the forefront. In the meantime, I am flattered that you would choose the Pacific to be your home. You are a well-spoken, intelligent, experienced, respected, articulate, and admirable player (and my list of laudatory adjectives for you goes on), and if you could bring to the NPO a fraction of what you brought to the Meritocracy, we are definitely in for a fruitful and beneficial relationship.
You certainly made great strides in improving the relationship between the NPO and the Meritocracy in your prior capacity as Meritocracic diplomat to us, something which I fear many people underestimate or don't give you credit for. While the Meritocracy has still not yet fully accepted the NPO, I am confident that your tireless effort has laid the groundwork for what could eventually become a strong, symbiotic relationship between the two organizations. I, and indeed the Senate, our forum members, and the entire Pacific community, cannot thank you enough for your superb diplomacy and selfless work in the area of not only initiating Detente between the NPO and the Meritocracy, but in propounding the importance of objective observation and interpretation of our Pacific, which has led to great advances in international understanding of the Pacific and in our own diplomatic relationships on all fronts.
I realize though that in the end, this is just a game and that real life takes priority. You have my congratulations on your professional advancement and my best wishes in sorting out the various changes of residence you and family are currently experiencing. I hope that this hectic schedule passes quickly and successfully, and that you could once again enjoy ample leisure time and perhaps once more adopt an active role in NS.
I welcome you as a citizen of the Pacific, dear comrade.
Za zdorov'ye, tovarishch!

Thank you Comrade Francos for your kind offer of Sanctuary and Pacific citizenship for Aung San Suu Kyi. It is gratefully accepted.
In great anger I had resolved to depart the game in its entirety. Some friends however have prevailed upon me to reconsider this drastic action. I'm calmer than before about things now and while my Meritocratic career is at an end, shall gladly accept your hospitality and retire here in the Pacific. My role for quite some time will be low key as I get my bearings about what to do from here on out but shall indeed not shut the door on the future nor let my nation die. It is not for others to determine whether I stay or go nor am I answerable to any who could forbid a change of mind. I have for too long allowed myself to be bullied regarding my beliefs and reasons for my conduct. The only one who's permission I need to reside here has granted such. No explanations, apologies or reasons need to be produced for doing so.
For those who comb these threads for my "treachery" your efforts are best applied to hunting down real bogeymen, but who am I to convince Captain Ahab to break off his search for Moby Dick. Others shall think of it what they will and I'll not be concerned.
S'pasiva Tavarische Francos.
Suu Kyi

In an effort to make the forum a little more "noob-friendly," a seperate board for introductions has been created and existing introduction threads have been relocated there. This thread will remain in General for more casual introductions, however.
If anyone feels a thread should either be moved into or out of the Introductions board, please inform me.
