I started playing this game just yesterday. Since then, I have recieved the following telegrams twice:

No, not at all. There are thousands of regions in NationStates, and it is a common practice to send telegrams to nations living in the "newbie regions" (the pacific, the south pacific, etc) asking them if they would like to move to another region. Just delete and ignore them.

Youll also get a ream of them every time you change your UN status. The recruiters sit on the list and tg everyone that appears.

I had that message twice also. As a result I've been trialling the in-game ignore function for the first time. It seems to be working...

Apropos of Corinthe and The YoungWorld, one of those "recruiting messages" is how I ended up in Wysteria somehow. I was quite flattered that, out of all the thousands of nations in the Pacific, The Bruce was only targeting me to move to his region. Bruce is a strong, respectable name that won my respect and the telegram my amusement. When I later moved to Wysteria I was actually underwhelmed by the lack of response I recieved from the residents. No one seemed to raise an eyebrow.

Maybe I should do more to become a famous senator like comrade Poskrebyshev or comrade Unlimited.

I've gotten recruited by the Bruce too, hence why I have a nation there... it's a pretty nice region, as far as it goes.

You could never be as famous as Unlimited, no one could. He's just too cool.

Actually I have seen it posted on the NS forums by a Mod that you are allowed to telegram any nation once.

If they respond to your initial telegram you can continue to correspond with them, but if they do not then you can not send them a second spam telegram.

This was in effect when I first started playing and may have changed since they added the ignore list but I haven't seen any verification of this.

You are absolutely correct. But I usually just block them from sending me anymore of their crap.
