It has been proposed that members of the New Pacific Order engage the Senators of the Meritocracy in a debate. Format has yet to be decided, but before we proceed in that direction, I felt it best to seek the approval and suggestions of our government. Ambassador Poskrebyshev has not commented on the issue, and so I ask for guidance from our beloved Francos and esteemed Senators.
Best regards, Aby

I'd recomend an AIM Chatroom, where a small delegation from each region could discuss current relations and events. After the ice is broken, a formal debate, with time limits and turns, could be held. I recomend that the moderator should be from an unbiased news outlet. If Jim Lehrer is taken, maybee someone from SeattleNews could be used.
I think one side should present an issue, and then the other delegation has 5 minuets to respond. The asking delegation has 5 minutes to negate, and the responding delegation has a two minute rebuttle.
Example Debate M=Meritocracy P=NPO
M: Why are you guys so jive turkey? P: Because we are _______(5 minuets later)___! M: But you did this._____(5 minuets later)____! P: We do what is necessary to survive____(2 minuets)__.
P: So why do you do such and such, you know? M: (5 minuets) P: (5 minuets) M (2 minuets)

*sighs and points out that the region does have a chatroom*
Sounds cool, I hope it works out.

I find Sir Paul's suggestion reasonable, and we do have a chatroom already.
I would look to our senate and leader to suggest names of those that they wish to participate.

I think using the Pacific Chat room is a fine idea as it is so easy to use. I don't have AIM.
While I want to remain in the background on this one I'd sure like to see it unfold. It's time that other people were heard from.

I suggested AIM because I didn't want anyone to have the "home field advantage" but if nobody minds, I suppose the NPO chatroom would work.

Greetings Senator Sir Paul,
Well, with most of the debates to date having occurred on Meritocratic, ALL, and ADN forae, having one on an NPO "home field" seems only fair. Hopefully these other debates will wind down soon and we can be "fresh" for this one.
<A good day to all I'm logging out soon and probably for the day.>

I'm most interested to see who represents the Home team here. Could be most amusing....

Ah - well I suggested IRC as it is ideal for a debate: you can have moderators, delegations who can talk, and anyone who wants to listen and observe. Although I know not everyone can access the chatroom... not everyone has AIM either.

If I might be so bold, I would nominate: El Caudillo himself Black Adder Sir Paul I do hope our leadership will make a decision soon. Best regards, Abysseria

now that would be most interesting..... ;D
I would think that maybe someone with a little more understanding of the Merit. would work better.
Just as I would have to say Daedalus would be best for the Merit. because of his knowledge of the NPO.
But would this be about the forms of Government and the differences/sameness?

Have our leaders come to resolution on this issue? I would like to keep our Meritocratic colleagues well informed.
Best regards,

I myself cannot see the value in having an official debate between governments on politics. As for an unofficial clash between members of both of our governments, perhaps. Though I cannot imagine El Caudillo would have an interest in participating himself. Simply because I have no interest in participating as I do not believe an unofficial debate would accomplish anything terribly important.
But I suppose the spectacle is what truly counts. I certainly wouldn't stop any Senators or Legions or Citizens from particpating in an unofficial debate. Though I believe it is more important first to write up a series of topics before you start choosing a location.
