Daedalus, As those discussions and debates evolve, please feel free to contact us so that we might do our best to present the reality of the NPO, not the generalized and stereotyped messages people are so familiar with. Have a good weekend, Abysseria Hello Abysseria, Achieving at least an ambassador exchange is my project of the present. I'll keep all of you posted on this. I also hope that at least one representative of the New Pacific Order can participate in a public discussion on our forum at a later date. Three would be better (and more interesting and fair in my opinion) but I need to take baby steps on this for now. Thank you for your patience, Daedalus

If the members of the Senate would so ordain, I would be happy to serve in such a role, if and when, the time comes.
The people of Abysseria would completely understand, however, if our leadership felt another nation was best suited for such a mission.
Regards, Aby

I too would be happy to volunteer for something like this, although Abyserria has certainly paid his dues, much moreso than our great nation.
However, consider this: I will bring free dairy-based refreshments for all to enjoy. We have found through experience that tall glasses of milk accompanied by an assortment of delectable cookies can soothe even the most ill-tempered and tense negotiators. After all, how can you stay mad when you're dunking an oreo?

Excellent!
Thank for your support in this venture Senator Mammothistan. Also to Senator Unlimited who has posted in this thread.
We have two volunteers as well which is encouraging. Thank you both. Milk and cookies would be well received and then there is that interesting little "superpower" of Lactating Nuns that ought to keep things on the "up & up" <grin> There is one volunteer from our Senate who would like to visit here. Counting myself that makes a pair for each region and, pending approval from our Quaestor, is probably the most we can realistically do for now.
The logistical challenges of arranging a public discussion will take a little time. Thank you all again for your patience thus far. I need now to sound out the Senate and move this project forward on that end.
Good Day,
Daedalus

For far too long the Meritocracy and the NPO have been without proper channels of communication. We look forward to the rectification of this.

For far too long the Meritocracy and the NPO have been without proper channels of communication. We look forward to the rectification of this. Greetings Senator Unlimited, It is my pleasure to announce such "rectification." We are prepared to receive an ambassador from the New Pacific Order with your approval and at your convenience. Either of the two who have volunteered are welcome if they still wish to do so. I shall continue in my role here as long as I am welcome. It remains my hope that we can expand this exchange in the future but must take things one step at a time. I'll not be pushing for a discussion immediately. This will give the Ambassador time to get familiar with our forum, other senators in an informal setting and basically settle in comfortably. (OOC I am entering a fairly busy work cycle next week but will still check in here during that time. /OOC) President Jack McDonald of Jasque is our new Consul and has been apprised of this project. Upon arrival at merit.jink.org please register and go to the Ambassadors section at merit.jink.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=598There is a pinned thread detailing the instructions and posting of the oath of an ambassador. The part about "MACTO" is not applicable to you so it can be ignored but the oath is still valid. The oath basically states that an ambassadorial applicant will not try to interfere in Senate affairs, respect other ambassadors and senators and so forth. They are of course welcome just arrive and sojourn for a few days before doing all this but please PM Jasque and/or Winnipeg upon arrival to let them know who they are in case I am offline at that time. There I am Senator Daedalus of Kasei Valles. It is indeed a historic moment for our two great regions. Kindest Regards,

SuuKyi/Daedalus,
As recently appointed First Officer of Diplomacy and Foreign Affairs in the Pacific, I wish to inform you that it is the position of the Pacific Government that your puppet nation SuuKyi be recognized as the Official Ambassador to the Pacific of the Meritocracy. As for the request of your government for an Ambassador to be sent from the Pacific to the Meritocracy, I have dispatched someone to request recognition on your forum for that position, myself.
May prosperity accompany the thawing of relations between the leadership of the Pacific and the Meritocracy.
Hail Franco.

Greetings First Officer Poskrebyshev, I am deeply gratified to find that you have taken a personal interest in this project and that I am now here in an official capacity, also as an ambassador. Our communications link is up and dialogue may commence. Your act has given these talks new legitimacy and I look forward to participating in the debates which are already unfolding. One thing will not be questioned and that is that you, First Officer Poskrebyshev, do speak for the Pacific Government. As it is I now feel that taking this course was the right thing to do at the right time. Despite the reverberations echoing across Nation States as we speak, our Senate is either supportive of this effort or cautiously reserved and waiting to see what comes of this. Some misgivings have been expressed about it but our nascent Detente remains viable. I bid you and the rest of the Pacific a most pleasant good night. Daedalus

The great nation of Abysseria wishes the best of luck to those nations participating in these talks.
I sincerely hope they yield a fruitful relationship between our two regions.
Best Regards,

Cool, I'm glad this has been embraced by our esteemed First Officer of Diplomacy. This is an exciting development for the NPO and a solid opportunity to challenge some of the rumor and innuendo that abound in the NS world regarding the NPO. I'm wondering if Abyserria and I can also join in on the Meritocracy board - not as official voices of the NPO but as we are - NPO citizens contributing to this diplomatic dialogue, with humility and recognition of our leaders as the final arbiters of information about the NPO. Long live the NPO!

I would be open to what Lactating Nuns suggests, if our leadership permits it.

Ambassador Daedalus has informed me that he wishes to have two other NPO Citizens visit the Meritocracy forum as a kind of cultural exchange. If you two: Lactating Nuns, and Abysseria would like to do so, then I have no objections. I shall see you two there, though do watch out for LadyRebels.

To Senator Unlimited and the Pacific Government:
I feel it in order as well as my ambassadorial duty to issue an official apology from the Government of The Meritocracy for the intensity and manner to which questions were put to First Officer and Ambassador Poskrebyshev upon his arrival.
Given the nature of our official and public posts on the subject, an official apology, not for the questions themselves but for the hostile environment which was fostered by them, is fully in order. Some degree of this was expected but still it got well out of hand.
It is our sincerest hope that this dialogue may continue and that we are successfully clearing these first and critical obstacles to forming a new relationship.
Ambassador Daedalus of The Meritocracy.
